Dry chicken manure from the company’s own chicken farms and NaWaRos from the company’s own production are mainly used as feedstock. The chicken excrement is transported to a central biogas plant at the Köthen airfield to rule out hygienic concerns in advance. After energy recovery, the substrate is subjected to digestate processing. The solid material thus produced is spread on agricultural land as anaerobic compost. The liquid fertiliser produced can be traded at market prices.
